Places we have camped 2026
Camp Hilltop – Robertsdale, AL
This should be our last night of camping in RV parks. We hope to be home by tomorrow night.
Camp Village Oaks, Texas
Nice camp, quiet, and a great night of rest.
4 Star camp

Camp Lamar, Texas
A literal dump: 16 sites, with only a couple available to rent; most have lived here a long time. It is a dump, but it has water, electricity, and sewer. I will never stay here again, but will work tonight so I can rest in a safe camp. I wish I had something good to say about it. I did get a great night’s rest, woke up refreshed, watered up our main tank, and rolled out.
1 star camp
Camp Town and Country, New Mexico.
No space, I borrowed the salt shaker from my neighbor’s breakfast table.
3 star camp
Camp Percha, New Mexico
A Rio Grande dam is located nearby.
4 1/2 star camp
Camp Picocho, AZ
suqarios galore, big sky
5 star camp
Camp Bodega, California
A cool camp on the Pacific Ocean nestled back in the Bay of Bodega, keeping the raw, rugged Pacific waves contained in the ocean. The camp had no dump hookup on site. It was hidden away in between two beautiful bushes with a private, large picnic area surrounded by tall bushes.
4 1/2 star camp
Camp Westport – Westport, California
This camp is located on the ocean. A beach, a cozy spot to park your RV and enjoy the raw, rugged Pacific Ocean, listening to the surf and the wind blowing against the RV, occasionally rocking it gently.
41/2 star camp
Camp Benbow – Garberville, California

5 star camp
The port of Siuslaw Campground – Florence, Washington.
We arrived today and are spending the night here. I have not checked the camp out at all, but it is in a beautiful area near the water. more to come…
4 1/2 star camping
Brook Hollow RV Camp
Here we stayed overnight to bypass Bothel and keep a southerly track. Brook Hollow was a place we found on the road, a self-serving camp. Our check-in was on time, and we stayed until noon. We could not access the comfort room, the code restricted us from using them. After giving us the code, the next morning, the room still did not open.
3 1/2 star camp
Lake Pleasant Camp – Bothell, Washington
a crazy little camp located north of Seattle, built around a lake, an area we did not want to go back to since we were moving south. this camp had solid pads of ashpalt the comfort rooms were clean and warm.
5 Star RV park
Pioneer Trail RV Camp – Antacourtes, WA.

We stayed here three nights. This gave us time to do a few things to the RV and our laundry again, the facilities were clean and warm, one drawback was the showers. Someone installed push timers giving a preset stream of warm water, and then it shuts off. Not a nice way to deal with when wanting a hot shower and to go to bed. We met Joe, Cooper (the pup), and other staff members there. Next is Point Pleasant.
5-star camp

Burlington, Washington State

Camp Burlington is located on the very north side of Washington State. We are located just about 50 miles from the BC border. Our intent was to visit, but time and customs are a little challenging this year. Camp here is nice; the parking pads are dirt, no rocks; the soil is solid; and utilities are abundant and satisfying for our needs. Laundry is very nice with a fireplace, where do you ever get a fireplace in a laundry room? (Things we’ve never seen before and may never see again) ~WN, The restrooms and bathhouses are warm, with hot showers and clean facilities. Overall, this camp is average and should pass the KOA standards, my rating.
4-star camp
Camp Vantage, Washington State

Vantage is located east of Seattle in the back woods of Washington. Interstate 90 runs close by, providing access to travelers. Some of the places we stayed are so far off the beaten paths finding them has been the biggest challenge. This camp is not too difficult to find; the RV park is split into two, with the long-term campers on both ends. Our section of this park has NO one in it again. As far as the parking spaces, they are dirt and small rocks, all the amenities a Park offers. I am good with those conditions. Their comfort house is part of the Motel complex, but it’s not nice. Cold and no heat, making showering to be done in-house.
The grounds here are limited in sight to the basalt hills that were cut out by the floods of the Glacers long, long ago. As the Glacers melted, the floods filled the lands with water and ice. As the land eroded over time, floods and ice literally gouged the basalt, shaping the landscape we see today. It is so hard to imagine the formation from Ice and water erosion.
The only thing I’ve found a bit disturbing is the giant wind towers to power from wind, the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen sitting on God’s hills and mountains, just giving ruin to the visual sights of the land. (Tear these things down, they’re ugly and useless.)In my opinion.
Camp Vantage, Vantage, Washington.
3 1/2 star camp
Newport Diamond Lake, Newport, Montana

Oh, Newport at Diamond Lake, a place to remember. Arriving last night, we spent one night waking to rain. Today, I walked around the campgrounds and found out it was over 300 acres in size, hosting a club of elite campers also sporting the KOA flag. This place would be super crowded when it is full. The sites are so close to each other, it takes the fun out of camping. The place rocks when it is empty
I met the property manager today, and we chatted a while about his business and where he was from. He tells me 85 percent of his business comes out of Spokane, WA.

That made sense. This place is so far off the beaten path that we almost could not find it. So it’s up to the locals to keep it busy. The camp just reopened for the season.
5 star camp
Camp Polson – Polson, Montana

We rolled in early this evening, settled the Rig in our space, and walked around taking pictures. We cooked NY strip steaks on the new grill and retired early. I will know more about the camp after a night’s sleep.
Great Falls Koa – Great Falls, Montana

Great Falls KOA is coming out of winter shutdown. The camp is located in an isolated spot off the main road, behind a Walmart.
Our parking pad is made of sticky mud and some rocks, a lot of mud. The trees and plants are bare of leaves in winter.

This part of the country is behind some of the other warmer states. The site leaves us with no water and no ability to purge tanks; however, it has electricity. When campgrounds are reopening, it takes some time to get it right for them. Winters here are incredibly rough. Our visit to the North West is early, and we are missing a lot of traffic and the overloaded summer crowds due to our timing.
One thing about their comfort houses is that they are clean and comfortable to use. warm, located inside the building where it is heated.
@Chelsi and Hannah, thank you for your wonderful hospitality. We enjoyed our time.
Tomorrow we are off to another camp as we continue to roll West
4-star camp
Camp Spring Creek – Big Timber, Montana
We woke to a day in Camp Spring Creek, wow, what a beautiful place to start our day, a few photos explain it all. We are the only campers in the park this morning. The camp is ours.

5-star camp.
Sheridan Camp in Wyoming

A very bland in-town type of camp, interstate is close by, making truck sounds all night, the laundry facilities are rocking, cool as well, the bathhouse facilities are clean and warm. The rest of the park lends very little to the eye for pictures. Tour Highlites
Next Camp is located in Big Timber, Montana, rolling soon.
More to come on this camp tomorrow, we just arrived a while ago.
3 1/2- stars camp
Camp Badland – Ceder Pass, SD

This camp is what I expected, the reason we came west to see it in all its beauty. The raw country has a feel unlike being anywhere else. First, looking at this camp, it is as different as day and night. This open concept offers a wide-open sky and unpredictable weather.
All camps vary. Here, we have electric-only, no-water outlets. The land is bare and beautiful. The winds are gusting over the house, pushing us in a listing motion.
2-star camp
Camp Walmart’s – Sioux City, ID
A great night’s sleep and relaxation after the long drive. pretty uneventful.
Camp Branson – Branson, Missouri

Taken on I-10 in the Florida Panhandle, looking west, we were in the right place at the right time.
3-star camp
Hot Springs – Arkansas camp

4-star camp
LeFleur’s Bluff State Park in Jackson, Mississippi

3 1/2-star camp
Camp Black Water State Park – Holt, FL.
We were only here through the night and left at sunrise. The time was short but restful.
