Diamond Lake Camp, NewPort, Washington

Today was Sherrie’s birthday. We took it easy today. I let her sleep, and I got up early and began to make her / us breakfast. By ten, we were having the most wonderful in-house breakfast since we started RVing.

After breakfast, I took a walk and discovered the camp facilities. The highlight of the day was their fantastic Hot pool or Tub with jets. It is indoors, clean, and hot. A fun day for sure, Sherrie and I were all alone, we had the entire camp and facilities to ourselves on this stay.

Today was a day to relax. Sherrie was blessed today with birthday wishes from friends and family.

Tomorrow, we are back at it, counting white lines, heading for Vantage, Washington, to spend two nights there. We do not know where we are staying until we get there; these camps are all new to us. We learn as we go. Click Camps,

Our trip is beginning to get interesting; the change of scenery has magically transformed the landscape into a whole new set of views. Now that we have crossed the Rockies, our route has landed us tonight in a very off-the-road and interstate back road rolling west. We’re parked tonight in the valley that is host to the Kettle Range east of Vancouver. We have time to really enjoy the next few days and nights, as our camps are set up in many off-the-grid places, taking us up the back roads to Seattle. This is the same plan to roll south on the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) through Big Sur.

We are just getting started, the best is yet to come…

We are here for the night and ALL alone in this camp. As I said, off-grid camps, the next best thing to this night in this place is a full-blown boondock. Only this boondock has utilities, a bathhouse, with a big KOA sign (very nice, warm, and clean), and security.

During our escorted tour of the site, I noticed five very large deer feeding near the comfort house. A very welcome sight. I backed in, and they scurried away. ALONE is the buzzword tonight. I have never camped in a place like this before.

It is getting dark as I type. Note that the time is a bit difficult to adjust to. We are currently 3 hours behind EST using PDT.

Tomorrow, when the sun rises, will give a perfect opportunity to get out and take some photos, after all, we are now on the west side of the great divide…

Lots more to come, we’re just getting started.

Polson Camp am Roll out day

Tuesday morning in Montana, the sun is shining beautifully, casting a warm glow over the landscape. The sky is a vibrant blue, and the temperatures linger in the 50s this morning as we prepare for our gallop across the majestic Rockies. We’re excited to share that the picture flow should go up today, capturing the breathtaking scenes of our journey. The Rockies have been tempting us ever since we rolled up to them near the Badlands. Although we weren’t north far enough to venture west into the iconic mountain range, we took the opportunity to explore the eastern slopes, arriving at the charming Polson Flathead Lake KOA.

Last night, after our return to camp, it was already midnight. We decided to tackle our laundry, feeling accomplished once we completed and recycled it by 2 AM. To cap off the late night, we enjoyed a glass of vino together before heading off to bed. I can’t help but express just how blessed I feel to have my wife as my travel partner. Time and time again, she has proven her invaluable presence on this journey. Not only is she easy on the eyes, but her unwavering kindness and support make every moment even more enjoyable. Thank you, NAV. Together, we are a blessed and dynamic team, embracing each adventure that comes our way.

ONWARD today, we are rolling due west; here we come, Donner Pass! All jokes aside, today’s journey will lead us across not only the Rockies but also into Pacific Standard Time, putting us four hours apart from our previous location. The shift toward the western slopes will bring changes not only in our surroundings but also in the climate. Interestingly, the western slopes of the Rockies evoke memories of Florida’s west coast, presenting us with varying weather and experiences. This transformation reminds me of venturing into a land reminiscent of Oz, full of surprises and wonders around every corner.

As we embark on this journey, we are holding our Sister and her crew in our thoughts, hoping to hear from them soon. Seattle, after all, is a bustling city with so much to explore.

More updates to come as we roll into Little Diamond Camp in Newport, Washington. Today signifies a travel day ahead, filled with excitement as we navigate over the mountains. A beautiful journey is just beginning, and we look forward to sharing more as the adventure unfolds!

Flat Head Lake KOA, Polson, Montana

We had breakfast and lunch at the RV and broke camp by one. NAV told me we had a map to follow, so off we went following the blue line, winding through breathtaking landscapes that seemed to come alive under the gentle afternoon sun. We’re off to a Wild Horses Hot Springs, not just hot water, but minerals, and they call it artisan water, a term that suggests a unique quality and careful sourcing. It has a plethora of minerals and smells a bit like the shallow water we have in Florida. It matters how many minerals this water contains, as it was much like the experience we look for when taking vitamins; each soak felt like a nourishing ritual for the body and soul. They give us the minerals we don’t get and need, helping to rejuvenate us in ways we often overlook in our busy lives. With soaking in these hot baths, not only are they geo-heat, they’re full of the good stuff that our bodies crave. I felt so refreshed and energized after the visit there; it was as if the warmth of the water wrapped around me like a comforting embrace, reminding me of soaking in a vitamin bath, infusing me with both vigor and tranquility as we prepared for the next leg of our adventure.

Tuesday, we will be headed over and through the Rockies as our journey takes us in new places we have not been before. The sights and things we have seen on this trip alone have been full of excitement.

Waking to the day was a pleasure at this beautiful place to Camp down. We are here for two nights. Today we are hitting Highway 93 and rolling up the west banks of Flathead Lake, who knows what we will find, the entire run around the lake is about 90 miles. Not sure we will make the entire loop, but we’ll likely make it after we begin. We’ll come back here with the travel mobile and bed, have another steak dinner. The new Grill we use is so cool, it makes the easiest method for grilling, keeping the grill with a very small footprint to carry.

The comfort house here is a luxury facility, it is a little small for showering, but hot water, clean rooms, and warm! good deal for showers and restrooms.

The pads are made of gravel, not sure what they were thinking, giving us a pad with a table at a 40-degree angle. I had to take my wheel stays and use them to level it. I will say something before I check out. Not nice.

The views here from the entire camp are just eye candy, the mountain range from eye to eye view to the west, giving us a hint of what’s to come. Just read the book, Donners Pass. (gotta have some fun on this excursion).

So this afternoon we are off to take photos and hunt for wild critters.

More to come from here soon. This place is so pretty. can’t get enough of it.
