When I retired 3 years ago, the thought of hitting the road became a reality. Now all those days of raising children bent into the ways of living our best lives at the time.
I used to get up and go to work, Monday through Friday; I usually worked weekends too. After 27 years of working and being so responsible, you could bounce a dime off it. Now the rest of the years are mine to reap the rewards of my planning, watching closely every week, month, and year just to understand how it would be. Now I know. Retirement gives us time to ease our way, without a deadline looming. Imagine being a long way from home on a trip and deciding to reroute to a different destination. Having the resources to do so is where we take full advantage of what we built together.
Our main mission here is to share our simple stories and real-life journeys on the road. Nothing doctored or embellished; these are real-life adventures we all experience during travel.
I hope you enjoy reading about our journeys after retirement, and thank you for visiting our page. I have waited all my working life to do just what I am doing—a dream come true for us.
As we travel, we will keep going with the updates. Our 2026 year is jam-packed with adventure plans.
Remember:
There is wonderful life after retirement
Follow along with us when Sherrie and I take to the open roads again and head across the USA, finding treasures and places that we have discovered, and when we do, I will share them with you.
If you are retiring soon or planning to retire, these stories are meant to inspire you to carry on. If you like what we do, give us a like.

Holland-American. Alaska Cruise
After boarding and embarking, our ship sails north to the open Pacific, north to Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan, and more. Our countdown timer is ticking away. Hopefully, this two-month tour will give us the space our minds and hearts need to reset.
Much more to come on this as it closed in. So if your intersted in front-line news from the Alaskan tundra, keep checking back. Subscribe for updates.
Looking over the map of the faults, the cruise we are taking follows the San Andreas fault up through Alaska. It is directly on top of the fault. There’s always activity near and under the ‘Ring of Fire’. With lots of hope, we will be able to see and visit the NW coast before it breaks off into the Pacific Ocean.

Having grown up in church all my youth and most of my adult life, I’ve been led by the spirit to do God’s work, whatever that may be. I am a crusader for Christ, honorable and proud of my love for Jesus. I enjoy mostly from the old hymnal books to revisit all songs of the old Gospel, giving us light for tomorrow’s journey. Here are a couple of lines from the title “He lives”.
He lives, he lives, Christ Jesus lives today, he walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way.
He lives – he lives – salvation to impart. You ask me how I know he lives; he lives within my heart. An old favorite I used to hear every Easter Sunday morning from my dad, as he was getting ready for Church.
from an old gospel hymn, ‘He Lives’.
During my youth, in bible school we taught an sang so many songs of joy, including Jesus Others and You amoung the best we sang.
The memories of summer Bible school left me with so many rich memories of how wonderful it was to be together with others, to celebrate and share the Bible stories in a way only children enjoy.
All my youth attending church camps were much the same in a time of memory and a time forever to feel how God works in children’s lives. Every camp we joined and worked with gave us time to share the work of Christ in families through youth, planting a desire for more of God’s word.
My father would announce to the family and church that we are participating in this year’s Annual Camp meeting. They were usually held on a reserved property owned by the district. All the churches in the district would attend a mid-summer old-fashioned Tent Revival Camp.
These were some of the most wonderful memories of church camp. Fishing, boating, swimming, archery, and all types of sports that summer could offer. The fun never ended until we were put to our camp lean-tos and tucked into the nostalgic-smelling beds only a kid camp could produce.
The nightly campfires around our lean-tos, the constant checking on us campers from the camp counselor area, making sure we were ok. These Christian values have helped shape me into the person I am today.
real help comes from Jesus Christ. Whether it is in your sack of goodies to keep Jesus close, it is not a bad idea to do that. Simply asking God for redemption and forgiveness is not a steep price to pay for the assurance of eternal salvation for our souls. Listen to me, a simple prayer to God asking for His forgiveness for all the dirty deeds and sins you have done to others and against Christ’s will can be all you need. Give it a try and feel God’s love over you.
Lower your head, close your eyes as you offer this prayer to lead you to salvation. It is simple and such a small piece of insurance for your soul for eternity.
It goes like this;
“Father God, I am a sinner, and I want to be part of Your salvation. Father God, please forgive me of my sins and accept me as Yours. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ.” That’s it. Now, pick up a Bible and begin to read with new eyes, and feel His voice speaking in your heart as you read His Word. Keep in mind God will not fail us.

A sneak peek around the 2026 corner.
2026 will bring another cross-country tour, with more details coming soon. Planning has confirmed that preparations are underway, but specifics remain confidential for now. This upcoming trip is shaping up to be our most exciting yet and could last up to two months as we mobilize all our travel resources.

A sketch getting to Seattle
Here we go again, with many of the miles we ran last year; our goal is not to let the rig gather dust. RVs were meant to roll, and that is what we are going to do!
In May next year, we will again return to the road. The timeline for this trip to Washington State is on schedule. On this run to the northwest, we have specific targets of interest, mainly reaching Seattle by the third day of May. We are feeding our livestock extra this winter, ensuring they are strong enough to get us there. After all, if the mule and horses give up, it would be the end of the trip.
Last night, just before bed, I received a text message from the Project Planning Team asking me to review the next laid plan to the northwest.
It was late, but I was very excited and opened the email. As I looked at the travel plans, I saw we were returning to Florida through Arizona again. On our last trip through Arizona, most of our time was spent seeing the Grand Canyon, then off to Queen Creek for a brotherly visit with family.
Given the time spent at the Grand Canyon on our last trip through here, our timeline allowed us to see pretty much what we had prepared for, heading for the Cascade Range and, hopefully, Yosemite National Park, with the ultimate destination being Santa Cruz, Sherrie’s birthplace and hometown.
Arriving in Vancouver to meet our family members joining us by air. Our ship leaves for Sitka and beyond a day later.
The return through UT and AZ gives us a chance to be with family from the Phoenix area, perhaps spend a few days in Arizona’s beauty, and camp with my brother and his wife.
We’re staying vigilant on the NW. The Earth’s crust is an exciting phenomenon we rarely think about. The first time. So my next event will be to get closer to some molten lava flow and see the real deal. From hot thermals to the molten lava.
Tectonic plates are moving, causing 4.0 earthquakes in Alaska.
A little 101 from a kids’ video on the plates and movements. How it affects us and the planet. I chose this video because it is relatively easy to understand. Earthquakes 101.
Think about this…

The more time I spend in the will and light of Jesus, the love is spreading in me with each day I find a peace I never thought I could drift into. A place where I can think it through is first: before doing everything, I check it by myself and by my better judgment, and who’s in charge of my judgment is God, leading His work by Jesus, the crusader for His throne. Let each day teach us ways we have always known, yet we fall short of being that now with a newfound Christ presence in life; may this be a task for the easiest in a day.
The Son of God speaks to us in ways we do not understand. Every day, His presence in a believer lets us see everything He is telling us in a way we can only perceive. Through God comes all, and the love we feel is a gift of His salvation, the easiest thing to accept.
God inspires us for the life of our dreams and His will for us. Why are we bound to live eternally? But how do we know that? We do not, but by faith only; yet we refrain from the assurance that we will be turned from God on Judgment Day.
Living God’s dream is only for those who let God in and feel the shift in their mental attitude from a sinner to a Christian. Help is strength for us to take on, whether at work or at rest. God is in us always if we let the Spirit lead and guide our minds and hearts.
With that said, I bid you a fair day. Do not let a day go by without a moment to feel the presence of God in your life. Just open your heart and eyes to his presence, reach out, and let him lead you.
Ask this easy and simple prayer to be forgiven: “Father God, forgive me for my sin. I believe in You and want to be saved from sin. I ask You in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.” Now, find a Bible and read it as often as you can. The word of God through that book will inspire, protect, and strengthen your faith in the Almighty Prince of Peace. Amen.

A guide for anyone interested in the Florida beaches. The beaches have evolved into some of the most desirable spots in Florida. I found this book, and it caught my attention. As the book helps set the scene for Florida from the ice ages to what we see as the shifting sands, it illustrates the changes of our beaches, shape-shifting with the tide and storms.
