Lindi sends her feelings…

“Oh, thank god, I think I can see you over the horizon”

Lindi, we have missed you and want to give special thanks for all you do to keep the FTR offices open while we are away. We will be seeing you soon.

DYK…

Timmy!!!, dyk, there is an underground city under Seattle. Built over the 1889  fire-razed ruins, a rapid gold rush in 1890 transformed the city into a timber, aerospace and coffee hub also maritime industry. In 1962 the World’s Fair, the iconic Space Needle was built for this event!

I still remember the elevator ride to the top, where we had dinner and slowly rotated, seeing the city from the clouds as the golden hues of the sunset painted the skyline in mesmerizing shades of orange and pink. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation, and as we ascended, the sounds of the bustling city below faded away, replaced by soft music that set the perfect backdrop for our evening. Each moment seemed to stretch on as we took in the breathtaking views, marveling at how tiny the cars and people looked from such a height, almost like a living diorama of the life we were part of, reminding us just how vast and interconnected everything truly is.

Hey! There is a restaurant called the Canlis, built in the 50’s, known for its fine dining and panoramic views of Lake Union, which create a perfect ambiance for a memorable dining experience. This iconic establishment not only offers exquisite cuisine meticulously crafted by talented chefs but also boasts an extensive wine list that pairs beautifully with each dish. Additionally, The Pink Door, with its vibrant atmosphere and live entertainment, might satisfy your Italian taste! OYSTERS!!! are supposed to be great according to locals, as they are sourced fresh and served in various styles that highlight their natural flavors, making it a must-try for seafood lovers visiting the city.

The Gum Wall in Pike Place, a sticky place only cleaned once in 2015, is not just an oddity but a quirky attraction that draws tourists and locals alike. This vibrant wall, covered in layers of colorful gum, has become a canvas for personal expressions and creativity, reflecting the playful spirit of Seattle. Visitors often take pictures next to this unique installation, marveling at the sheer amount of chewing gum stuck to the bricks over the years. Not only is it a fun stop during a day exploring Pike Place Market, but it also offers a whimsical reminder that something as simple as chewing gum can create a lasting, interactive art piece that showcases the community’s joy and eccentricity.

@Timmy and Sherrie, please be safe heading on that big ship, don’t get lost. No worries at the office, I have it. love you guys, ~Lindi

DYK… 5 mountain ranges and 3 rivers converge in Missoula? They do.

Missoula is known as the ‘garden city’

There is a hand-carved carousel 🎠 downtown. The entire valley was once submerged under 2,000 ft of water, forming the Missoula Flood Lake. The 3 rivers make it a great place for fly fishing, the movie “River Runs Through It”! Also, the U.S. Forestry Service has a massive presence here and is the largest smokejumper base in the country. And like in FL, there is surfing! Only it’s downtown and man-made. River surfing, whoda thunk? And certainly not last, but struck a certain chord with me… Lewis & Clark passed through Missoula in 1805. Another map my dad acquired, and he and his brother Mark, with wives in tow, followed part of it in 2 canoes. They did not account for the addition of cattle crossings and culverts, which extended the trip by 2 days. My uncle Tom left the Lincoln on the dirt road, on a reservation, where the exploration team eventually arrived and returned home with lots of stories to tell.

DYK…   Sheridan is known as “cowboy chic”, a fancy cowboy town!

The Brinton Museum looks interesting. There is a famous leather carver there; he sells his goods, purses, saddles, anything leather. I can smell it from here. Also, the Bighorn Museum (downtown)

It’s going to be chilly, so layer up!

If you’re hungry and want to go out, Le-Rève sushi/ raw bar or Frackeltons- American cuisine, bison burgers.

Iv got my map out and following you guys and enjoying every mile!! 😎 y’all have fun, stay safe.

Mad love for ya!! 💋

DYK..   Eddie Roosevelt was the youngest president, 42 when he took office. He also lost his mom & wife on the same day, in the same house, 2 different illnesses. He went to the badlands to heal!!! And TR had the only national park named after a person, Teddy Roosevelt.

Did ya also know the badlands are Billions of years old, yes, billions!

DYK…   Did you know, in 1969, Richard Hullinger bought a 14-acre plot in Midland and started building the 1880 Town? Did you know that the old-time kitchen set was used in the movie “Dances with Wolves”, and an episode of American Pickers was filmed there

DYK    I’m channeling dad and Louis L’Amour and a trip we took following a pony express map dad acquired from God only knows, we were gone for days, following fence lines that went for miles, mom had the chore of opening and closing and Davey and I would get out and run around like crazed animals that had to be headed up, back into our ‘stagecoach’!!

We came across an abandoned silver mine. It looks like they pulled up in the middle of the night. What chased them out??? We saw hieroglyphs that I’m sure had not been seen by many people. Davey and I pushed box cars down into the mine, and listening for the crash of one car hitting the last, my God, we could have fallen down into the blackness, and with no cell phones, it could have taken days to get help!!! We traveled on, into Wyoming, I’ll never forget this trip!!!

I left my heart in SD.
